The president of the United States denied this Monday (6) that attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure would be war crimes. When justifying the statement, he pointed out that the Iranians “killed protesters, they are animals”.
“They killed 45 thousand people in the last month. More than that, it could be up to 60 [mil pessoas]. They are animals. And we have to stop them, and we can’t let them have a nuclear weapon. Very simple,” Trump told reporters during an Easter event at the White House.
At another point in the event, the American president reinforced the threats against Iran, stating that he has even “worse” options than bombing the country if there is no agreement to .
“They won’t have bridges, they won’t have plants, they won’t have anything. I won’t go into more detail, because there are even worse things than those two,” he said.
Trump set a deadline of Tuesday, at 9 pm (Brasília time), for Iran to accept the agreement.
On Sunday (5), Trump made a threat in a profanity-laced post in Truth Social: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day and Bridge Day, all together, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the f***ing Strait, you crazy people, or you will live in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
