Iran: "We will soon announce our answers to the truce proposals"

It has formulated its positions and demands in response to recent proposals forwarded to it through mediators, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bagaei said, adding that negotiations are “incompatible with ultimatums and threats to commit war crimes.”

The foreign ministry spokesman said that Tehran has drawn up a set of demands based on its national interests, which have already been conveyed through mediation channels. He also added that previous US demands, such as the 15-point plan, were rejected because they were considered “excessive”.

“Iran does not hesitate to clearly express what it considers its legitimate demands, and this should not be interpreted as a sign of compromise, but as an expression of its confidence in defending its positions,” Baghaei told a news conference.

In response to a question from an Iranian journalist about ongoing efforts to reach a ceasefire between Iran and the United States, he added: “We have formulated our own responses and will announce the details in due course.”
