The São Paulo City Council will hold an event next Monday (13) to
The symposium “Urban Mobility in the 21st Century in the City of São Paulo: Urban Air Transport and eVTOL” will bring together experts, authorities, managers and researchers to discuss eVTOL aircraft (electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles).
Among the confirmed participants are Julia Lopes da Silva Nascimento, director of Planning and Promotion at the National Secretariat of Civil Aviation of the Federal Government and Dario Rais Lopes, former National Secretary of Civil Aviation at the Ministry of Infrastructure.
Director Roberto José Silveira Honorato and Eduardo Bernardi, Certification and Operational Safety manager, will come from the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac).
The new transport model, which is already being tested in countries such as the USA and China, will require regulations such as the licensing of landing and take-off areas, the impact on traffic and issues related to building security and the organization of urban space. In Brazil, Embraer tests a prototype.
“The proposal of the symposium is precisely to start this debate in a structured and qualified way, before the technology is widely disseminated. The expectation is that urban air mobility will no longer be a distant possibility and will become part, in the very near future, of daily life in cities like São Paulo”, states the president of the Chamber, councilor Ricardo Teixeira (União).
