Photojournalist Ingrid Kelly was able to celebrate Journalists’ Day in a special way:
For Ingrid, the current moment is one of gratitude. “All of this is very gratifying. God has blessed me a lot, and winning this award is a dream from the beginning, I always wanted to be recognized in some way, and look! Nationally, and in 1st place”, she celebrated.
The professional, who works at the State Secretariat for Communication (Secom), competed with a record made in the Mamoadate village, in Assis Brasil, a place that requires more than eight hours of boat travel to reach. The image is part of a report on the cultivation of native cocoa carried out by indigenous communities.

“It’s an honor”
To the ContilNeteven at the time she was announced as a finalist, she said it was an honor.
“I thank Diego Gurgel, who has always been an inspiration, and secretary Nayara Lessa for the opportunity to be among the best”, he added, at the time.
For those who are just starting out in the field, Ingrid is emphatic: “Never give up on your dreams. In my beginnings, I never imagined living what I’m living today, never, not even in my best dreams. In the beginning, even before working with professional photography, I asked God, to teach me to be better every day, and to pursue my goals! And look where I am, I’m very grateful”, she said.
The award’s theme was “Agro Conecta” and is part of the program, which seeks to highlight agribusiness as a link between people, technology and purpose. The winners will be announced during the event’s official ceremony.
