US President Donald Trump is the only one who knows his plans regarding Iranthe White House spokeswoman said on Tuesday. The Office of the President had earlier rejected the allegation on Platform X that Vice President JD Vance had suggested that the US plans to attack Iran with nuclear weapons. The AFP agency drew attention to it, reports TASR.
“The Iranian regime has until 8:00 p.m. EST (2:00 a.m. CEST Wednesday) to own up to the situation and strike a deal with the United States,” spokeswoman Karoline Leavittová said in a statement to AFP. “Only the president knows how things are and what he will do,” she added. The White House responded to the allegations in a post on X moments earlier, that the American vice president indicated in his speech in Hungary that the US is ready to use a nuclear weapon.
On Tuesday, at a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in Budapest, Vance said that US forces have the means, “which they have not yet decided to use” to enforce President Trump’s ultimatum. The Headquarters News account, which according to AFP is linked to former US Vice President Kamala Harris, subsequently said on X that it implied the use of nuclear weapons. “Literally nothing he (Vance) has said here ‘suggests’ that, you absolute buffoons,” the White House wrote in response to the allegations.
