Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday (local time) asked Donald Trump, President of the United States, to extend it for another two weeks.
“To allow diplomacy to take its course, I sincerely request President Trump to extend the deadline by two weeks. Pakistan in all sincerity requests the Iranian brothers to open the Strait of Hormuz for a corresponding period of two weeks as a gesture of goodwill,” Sharif said in an X post.

Trump gave Iran until 9pm on Tuesday (07) to reopen the Strait of Hormuzclosed since February 28th, when the war began.
Iran suspends negotiations with the US
Iran interrupted negotiations with the United States and informed Pakistan that will no longer participate in conversations about a ceasefireaccording to information from three senior Iranian officials given to the New York Times.
The decision comes amid increased tensions in the region, with no immediate indication of resumption of dialogue. No details were disclosed about the reasons for the suspension or about possible conditions for reopening negotiations.
On Monday (06), Iran rejected the ceasefire proposal and emphasized the need for a permanent end to the war, the official IRNA news agency said on Monday (6). The White House also confirmed, on Monday, that it had received a proposal from mediators for a 45-day ceasefire with Iran, but detailed that President Donald Trump “did not validate her”.
Trump gives Iran ultimatum
The President of the USA, Donald Trump, stepped up on Mondaythreats against Iran, in comments to reporters during Easter event at the White House. The Republican reiterated that Persian to continue the peace negotiations, which would end this Tuesday (7).

Trump argued that the US government has already given “many chances” for the regime to reach an agreement to end now, but that “they haven’t used any yet”.
This Tuesday, Trump warned that this Tuesday, if the regime does not meet its ultimatum. “An entire civilization will die tonight, never to return. I don’t want it to happen, but it probably will,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “WHO KNOWS?” he added.
