2-week ceasefire between the US, Israel and Iran. Lebanon is in doubt

The peace proposal is viable. “We have already met and exceeded all military objectives”, explains Donald Trump.

There is ceasefire no Iran, at least temporary: from two weeks.

Donald Trump agreed to a “ceasefire bilateral”, and after receiving a “viable” peace proposal from Tehran. Israel and Iran also accepted the agreement.

“I agree to suspend bombings and attacks on Iran for a period of two weeks. This will be a bilateral Ceasefire! The reason for this is that we have already we met and exceeded all military objectives and we are very advanced in a definitive Agreement on long-term PEACE with Iran and PEACE in the Middle East”, wrote the US president on the social network Truth, just over an hour before the deadline given to Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face an attack on its infrastructure.

According to the North American President, the commitment is the result of talks promoted by the Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, which requested him to “suspend the deployment of destructive forces into Iran tonight, and provided that the Islamic Republic of Iran agrees to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz.”

The Supreme National Security Council of the Iran confirmed the ceasefire and reported that the negotiations for a peace agreement will take place in Pakistan from April 10.

Trump claimed to have received a Iran’s 10-point proposal “which constitutes a basis viable for negotiation.”

“Almost all previous points of contention were agreed between the United States and Iran, but a period of two weeks will allow the Agreement to be finalized and consolidated. On behalf of the United States of America, as President, and also on behalf of the countries of the Middle East, it is an honor to have this long-standing problem close to being resolved”, he said.

But Israel, what supports the ceasefire in Iran, has already warned that This agreement does not include Lebanon – Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, mediator in the conflict, had said that the ceasefire applied “everywhere, including in Lebanon and elsewhere”. This version was denied by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Strait of Hormuz

Donald Trump assured that the United States will help manage the “backlogged traffic” in the Strait of Hormuz.

The White House leader reaffirmed that there will be “many positive actions” and that “if you will earn a lot of money“, without specifying how the North American Administration will act in the strait, nor explaining these actions, especially in light of Tehran’s declaration – according to which it will continue to “coordinate” the flow of oil in the Gulf.

Following the announcement of the cessation of hostilities agreement, Tehran assured that, during the next two weeks, it will allow “safe passage” through Hormuz, “in coordination with the Iranian armed forces and taking into account technical limitations”, according to the head of Iranian diplomacy, Abbas Araghchi, on the social network.
