According to , more than 1,500 people have died and around 4,800 have been injured since the start of the conflict, figures released before the most recent offensive.

The Israeli Army classified the action as the largest coordinated operation in the country so far. According to the military, they were hit in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley and the south of the territory.

In a statement, Defense Minister Israel Katz said that hundreds of members of the Iran-backed group were hit. He described the offensive as the biggest blow against the organization since September 2024, when Israeli action caused the explosion of thousands of devices used by its members.

Katz also said the government is trying to separate the confrontation with Iran from fighting on Lebanese territory, with the aim of reducing threats in northern Israel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office reinforced that it is not mediated by the United States between Israel and Iran.

The minister also stated that Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem “will have his turn”, following the death of his predecessor, Hassan Nasrallah, in an Israeli operation last year.
