The minister, from the (Federal Supreme Court), asked City Hall for explanations as to whether there are links between funeral service concessionaires in the capital and the . Dino responded to the request, this Tuesday, (7), in , in São Paulo.
The minister points out that the mayor’s management () has already become aware of this possible link and, therefore, has opened an internal investigation.
Brother-in-law of , Fabiano Zettel served as an advisor to Cortel, between 2022 and 2025.
In a note to the Panel, the Nunes administration defended the concession of services and countered the minister. “The City of São Paulo suggests to Minister Flávio Dino that he ask his colleagues from the Federal Supreme Court about Banco Master, which is where the investigation into the bank’s actions and acts is located”, says the management.
“Funeral and cemetery services in the city of São Paulo are fully operational, without any complications, and the municipality will continue to fulfill its role as manager and supervisor.”
After the publication of Dino’s decision, federal deputy Luciene Cavalcante, state deputy Carlos Giannazi and councilor Celso Giannazi, all from PSOL, presented a request for investigation and complaints to the Public Ministry and the City Council
The trio requests that it be determined whether there was an omission on the part of Nunes’ team and the responsibility of the mayor, as well as requesting a hearing from the representatives of Master, Cortel and Zettel.
When contacted by the Panel this Wednesday afternoon, Cortel did not comment.
