More than eight months after submitting the proposal to award the Greek-Russian conductor Teodor Currentzis with the Austrian Decoration of Honor for Science and Culture, Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen has not yet made a decision. At the same time, neither the Hofburg nor the Ministry of Culture want to make details of the proposal public. The latter even fears that if it is published it will “impair foreign policy relations”.
