Anyone currently looking for a rental apartment in Vienna is having a hard time – and the situation is not going to improve any time soon. Real estate service provider EHL expects that just over 8,000 new residential units will come onto the market in the federal capital this year. The forecasts were revised downwards in the latest market update on the Vienna housing market, because at the start of the year in the first quarter of 2026, the completion figures had “reached a historic low,” it says.
