Vienna – With the student card, another electronic proof of identity is now available on the federal government’s e-ID platform. In addition to being a student, the prerequisite for use is an ID Austria with full functionality as well as the activated e-ID cards and the ID Austria app on the same device. Use is voluntary, but the haptic student ID card remains in effect. The universities decide which services can be used.
