Rome – The Italian government has declared a state of emergency after a serious landslide along a central north-south traffic axis and pledged immediate funding to restore infrastructure. During a visit to the site, Infrastructure Minister Matteo Salvini announced that he would initially provide ten million euros for initial interventions. The landslide disrupted transport connections near Petacciato in the southern Italian Adriatic region of Molise on Tuesday.
