Secom (Communication Secretariat of the Presidency) announced this Friday (10) that screenwriter Antonia Pellegrino is the new president of EBC (Empresa Brasil de Comunicação).
Antonia takes over the role from journalist André Basbaum, who recently transferred to the Group. The new head of EBC has already worked at the company since 2023, as director of Content and Programming.
In a statement, minister Sidônio Palmeira (Secom) stated that the invitation to Antonia reflects a commitment to strengthening public communication in the country.
In the content area, according to Secom, Antonia coordinated strategic initiatives such as the reformulation of the Sem Censura program, and the implementation of the Seleção TV Brasil notice, which foresees R$ 110 million in independent audiovisual production.
It was also her initiative, says the Secom statement, to expand the broadcaster’s presence in sport, with emphasis on the broadcast of women’s football.
