Trump says he doesn't care if Iran negotiates because there are ships on their way to load oil in the US

Donald Trump has started the week trying to weather the , this past weekend in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, with more triumphalist messages that, again, are not accompanied by any proof. As the US president has hinted, he does not care whether or not the Iranian authorities return to the negotiating table. The reason is that he has shown his chest that there are “many ships” on their way to the US to load up on US oil.

In the early hours of Monday, when oil and natural gas prices returned to , respectively, after the failure of the first contact of the talks to reach an agreement; Trump has assured that “there are many ships heading to our country to supply themselves with oil.”

These were the president’s statements upon his arrival at the Saint Andrews military base in Washington, where he also stated again – without specifying anything – that there are allied countries that are working to prevent Tehran from being able to market oil, taking into account that this is the main source of financing it currently has. Previously, on Sunday, regardless of whether they are Iranian vessels, third-country vessels or even allied countries.

Trump says Iranians ‘are pretty desperate’ as oil prices soar again

“I don’t care if [las autoridades iraníes] they come back or not [a sentarse a la mesa de negociación]. “I don’t care,” is how he responded to questions about whether the talks that failed due to the 1990s will be resumed. While Washington demands the dismantling of all Iranian nuclear power plants that they need to generate energy for civilian purposes, it also refuses to include in the agreement a ceasefire in Lebanon while Israel bombs and occupies the south of the country.

Trump had also indicated that he believes that “the Iranians are quite desperate,” arguing that it will be the authorities of that country who will want to negotiate again because “they are in a very bad situation.” However, hours before the order, these same authorities had assured that they no longer take seriously any threat from Trump regarding the maritime blockade, and reiterated that it is the Iranian Revolutionary Guard that is in control of the passage and that they will attack any military vessel that tries to cross it.
