The actress Ruby Rose publicly accused the singer Katy Perry of sexual assault, alleging, on her social media, that the artist had “rubbed her vagina” in his face at a nightclub in Melbourne, Australia, when Rose was just over 20 years old.
The complaint was made on Threads, in response to a publication by Complex about Katy Perry’s reaction to Justin Bieber’s performance at the Coachella festival.
“Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne,” wrote Ruby Rose, who detailed the alleged sexual assault later in other posts.
“She didn’t kiss me. She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friend’s lap to avoid her, so She bent down, pulled her panties to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina in my face until my eyes shot open and I vomited all over her.“, said the star of Orange Is The New Black.
“After vomiting on her, I told the story publicly, but I changed it to a ‘funny drunk story’ because I didn’t know how to deal with the situation”, explained the actress.

The actress, now 40 years old, maintained that it took her almost two decades to talk about the case explicitly and that she kept it a secret because “later, she agreed to help me get my American visa.”
“He was just over 20 years old. Now I’m 40 years old. It took me almost two decades to say this publicly. While I’m so grateful to have made it this far and found my voice, it just goes to show the impact that sexual trauma and abuse has. Thank you for listening to me,” Rose further wrote, that he “has no interest in pressing charges” about the incident.
Katy Perry, who is currently dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, reacted to Ruby Rose’s accusations through a representative. In a statement sent to , the singer’s team classified the allegations as “categorically false” and “dangerous and irresponsible lies”.
The same statement from Perry’s team adds that Ruby Rose has a history of making serious accusations on social media against various people, allegations that Perry’s rep says have been repeatedly denied by targets.
So far, no public evidence has been presented to support the accusation, nor is there any indication of an ongoing official investigation.
This Tuesday, Ruby Rose said she “can no longer comment, republish or speak publicly” about the case, with the justification that “it is a standard police request and, in many ways, a great relief.”
If Rose has a history of making serious accusations against several people, Katy Perry also accumulates cases seen as, at least, strange by several people on social media.
A user on Threads drew attention to the fact that Katy Perry having called, in 2011, a 14-year-old boy to the stage to kiss him. While a judge on American Idol, he also kissed a 19-year-old contestant on the lips, allegedly without consent.
