The president (PT) wore, for the first time, a red cap with the message “For the end of”, one day after the government sent the weekly proposal.
The adornment was given to the president by representatives of , during a meeting with the groups this Wednesday (15) at Palácio do Planalto.
The decision by Lula’s team occurred after part of the government assessed that the proposals currently being processed in the Chamber (today in the form of a PEC (proposed amendment to the Constitution) were being . The text was sent under a constitutional urgency regime, when there is a 45-day period for parliamentarians to consider.
Lula met with the president of the House, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), hours before forwarding the proposal, to align deliberation on the topic in the Legislature. Despite the agreement surrounding the sending of the government’s bill (the fastest moving format), Motta said he would maintain the PEC’s processing schedule.
On previous public occasions, Lula wore the blue cap previously designed by his team, which printed the phrase “Brazil belongs to Brazilians”, in line with the motto of national sovereignty adopted by the administration.
At this Wednesday’s meeting, which takes place every year, the groups presented a list of demands — this time, 68 demands were brought to the president. Among them is the fight against pejotization, regulation of work by application, as well as the reduction of the 6×1 working day.
The document with the agenda of demands for the period from 2026 to 2030 is signed by CUT, Força Sindical, UGT, CTB, NCTS, CSB, Intersindical and Pública.
The text sent by Lula’s team includes points such as the guarantee of two days off per week, a maximum limit of 40 hours per week (today it is 44 hours),
