The presenter Tadeu Schmidt opened the Big Brother Brasil 26 this Friday (17) with tribute to his brother and former basketball player, Oscar Schmidt. Earlier, the journalist had confirmed that .
“Today is a hard daywe said goodbye to my brother Oscar, but I made a point of being here”, said the presenter with a choked voice.
Tadeu stated that Oscar is his “biggest idol” and it was always yours “greatest reference”especially “with regard to love for the profession”. The journalist said that the former player “never let his teammates down” nor was he missing from his team when he broke his hand.
“I will recoverbe patient, today is a very important day [no Big Brother Brasil]. I’m here for the game, to do my best, in tribute to you, my brother”, he declared.

In a post on social media, before the start of the program, Tadeu had said that, if he didn’t go to work, it would be a “affront to the memory” of his brother. “Oscar didn’t come to my wedding because he had a game. He already played with a broken hand, a broken hand,” he said.
Death of Oscar Schmidt
The death of the basketball legend was also confirmed this Friday by the former athlete’s office. .
