After the Ukrainian drone attack, a fire broke out in an oil warehouse in Sevastopol (2)

Ukrainian drones hit an oil warehouse in occupied Sevastopol and caused a fire. The attack is part of a broader effort to target Russian military infrastructure.

An oil warehouse fire broke out in Sevastopol, Crimea on Saturday after an attack by Ukrainian drones, local authorities reported. According to the Moscow-appointed governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, the fire started after a tank was hit, while Russian air defenses shot down several drones. There were no casualties or injuries in the incident and fuel supplies remained unaffected. However, these claims have not yet been independently verified.

  • An oil warehouse was on fire in Sevastopol, Crimea, after an attack by Ukrainian drones.
  • Russian authorities reported hitting a tank, several drones were shot down by the defense.
  • Occupied Crimea and other Russian regions faced coordinated strikes on infrastructure.
  • Russian night attacks damaged Ukrainian port infrastructure and caused widespread power outages.
  • Both sides systematically use drones, increasing the risk of civilian casualties.

Occupied Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014, has become a frequent target of Ukrainian attacks since the beginning of the war. According to Governor Razvozhaev, two more drones were neutralized over Sevastopol. The Ukrainian side did not directly comment on the attack, but similar operations are part of its strategy aimed at weakening the Russian military infrastructure.

Attacks on other targets

In addition to Crimea, attacks were also reported from the Russian port of Vysock in the Leningrad region, where a fire broke out in the port terminal. Governor Alexander Drozdenko said Russian forces had neutralized dozens of Ukrainian drones. Similar incidents also took place in the cities of Syzran and Novokuybyshevsk in the Samara region, where industrial buildings, probably oil refineries, were hit. However, the local authorities did not publish the exact details of the damage.

On the other side of the front, Russian night attacks hit the Ukrainian port infrastructure in the Odesa region, which caused widespread power outages for approximately 380,000 customers in the north of Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian air force, Russia deployed more than 200 drones, while intensive bombing was also reported from the Kharkiv region, where at least seven people were injured.

Growing tension on both sides

These events point to the ongoing escalation of the conflict, which affects not only military but also civilian and industrial targets. Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory and occupied areas are a response to intense Russian bombing that is causing significant damage to Ukrainian infrastructure and affecting the lives of thousands of civilians.

Both sides continue to deploy drones as a key tool in modern warfare, increasing the risk of further damage and casualties on both sides of the conflict.
