The federal deputy (Psol-SP) stated this Tuesday (June 23, 2026) that the national leadership of Psol failed to comply with electoral agreements signed with party leaders and distributed campaign resources unequally, to the detriment of black, transsexual and peripheral candidates. The parliamentarian published the statement on her profile on . According to her, the party’s actions would symbolize “white and cis privilege [se] overlapping everything: the agreements made with us, serious electoral calculations”.
According to Hilton, the party ignored gender, race and disability criteria when defining national transfers, making candidates with greater voting potential unfeasible in favor of a specific profile of pre-candidates. The deputy stated that the Psol dismantled its own national inclusion policy, which guaranteed financial adjustments for these groups, exactly at the moment when the TSE recognized the importance of this policy.
Hilton highlighted her status as a black and transvestite deputy to run for re-election in São Paulo, the largest state in the country. She argued that campaigning requires high-cost logistics and security arrangements, and that the party bureaucracy ignored this reality when defining the transfers.
Comparisons
In the statement, the congresswoman cited 2 specific cases to support the accusation. She stated that Juliano Medeiros, president of the Psol-Rede Federation and a campaign newcomer, would receive priority equivalent to hers in the distribution of resources. Manuela D’Ávila, who was affiliated with PC do B and, according to Hilton, “just arrived at the party”would be expected to receive more than double the amount allocated to the deputy. “I respect their trajectory and I would love to see them elected, but this is white and cis privilege overriding everything: the agreements made with us, serious electoral calculations”said Hilton. “Political intelligence has gone a long way.”
The deputy also cited cases outside of São Paulo. In Rio de Janeiro, he pointed out that leaders Renata Souza and Rick Azevedo face a similar situation. Hilton recalled that, in previous elections, the party underestimated Azevedo in the distribution of resources. He took to the streets with his own effort and ended up as the most voted Psol voter in the state. In her assessment, the party is about to repeat the same mistake. Carlos Giannazi, in São Paulo, was also cited as a victim of the same pattern.

“Simply shocked and disappointed.
“For me, you know, real politics is done on the streets, on the networks, with transparency, straight talk and purpose. It is not done by hiding problems under the carpet or with attempts at sabotage.
“I and many leaders decided to stay in the Psol to help the party overcome the barrier clause, because our responsibility in these elections is huge: to give our best, all of us, to re-elect President Lula and guarantee a stronger, larger left-wing group, to support the government and compete for society. But, to do so, Psol needs to fulfill the agreements it made with us. And it’s not complying. It’s tearing up our agreements and practically making us unviable.
“I’m immensely proud to have helped to take the fight to end the 6 x 1 scale to the whole of Brazil. The streets are on our side. But campaigning in our country is not the same for everyone. I’m a black and transvestite deputy. To travel São Paulo, the largest state in the country, pulling votes, I need immense logistics and a very strong security scheme. Our bodies run risks that the party bureaucracy cannot simply ignore, with the risk of making our pre-candidacy for re-election unfeasible, lowering the maximum potential of our votes… and putting our physical integrity at risk.
“It is absurd that the party leadership closes its eyes to this reality. Today, Juliano Medeirospresident of the Psol-Rede Federation, in his first candidacy, would have exactly the same priority as me. Manuela d’Ávilawho has just joined the party, is expected to receive more than double. I respect their trajectory and would love to see them elected, but this is white and cis privilege overriding everything: the agreements made with us, serious electoral calculations… Political intelligence has gone a long way. It is an attempt to stifle those on the front line to the detriment of a very specific pre-candidacy profile, of groups that only think about themselves and are, once again, risking the viability of the Psol.
“So much so that, commanded by Paula Coradinational president, the Psol simply dismantled its national inclusion policy that guaranteed fair national transfers with adjustments for gender, race and for people with disabilities (PCD), exactly at the moment when the Electoral Court itself recognizes the historical importance and need for this policy. It is an unacceptable setback.
“And it’s not just me. In Rio de Janeiro, giant and popular leaders withRenata Souza and o Rick Azevedo sofrem from the same evil. Also o Carlos Giannazi em SP. The party ignored and underestimated Rick in the last election, he took to the streets, received the most votes, while the Psol shrank, largely due to the poor distribution of its resources under political criteria. And now Psol is about to repeat exactly the same mistake with him!
“Nobody wants to take away the basics or deny the importance of those who are in their first campaigns. What we cannot accept is the lack of transparency and the political suicide of suffocating those who have the popular strength to guarantee the party’s survival. We stayed in Psol to overcome the barrier clause and elect strong benches. Now, we demand that the leadership keeps its word.”
