On a visit to Australia, the Duchess of Sussex complains about having been one of the most criticized people in the world on social media, and denounced what she considers to be the negative points present in the digital world.
The Duchess of Sussex’s comments, Meghan Markleemerged this Thursday while speaking to students associated with the mental health organization Batyr, during his visit to Australia with Prince Harry.
“Every day, during 10 yearsI was a victim of bullying and attacks on social media. But here I am. When I think about all of you and what you’re going through, I think a big part of that involves realizing that this industry is completely anchored in cruelty to get clicks and that’s not going to change,” reveals the duchess.
According to , Prince Harry praised the prohibition of social networks in Australia for children under 16, noting that the decision was “epic from the point of view of responsibility and leadership” due to several countries having followed suit.
“It should never have come to a ban. Young people shouldn’t be punished with something that should be safe to use,” says Harry.
The Duke of Sussex spoke about the benefits of therapy, urging young people to try it, as “there are a lot of things in the world that leave us anxious, stressed, helpless, powerless and completely overwhelmed”, says Harry.
Harry even ended up remembering his mother’s death, princess dianain a car accident in Paris in 1997.
“Loss is disorienting at any age and grief will never go away, no matter how much we ignore it. Experiencing loss as a child will have its challenges. And without a purpose, it can destroy us,” he added.
This is not the first time that Meghan has spoken out about the abuse she has suffered since she started dating Prince Harry in 2016. The actress also guarantees that when she was pregnant with Archie and Lilibet, now aged six and four, the situation got worse.
