Victim tried to help couple captured by fake delivery man on Avenida Juriti and was shot by the fleeing criminal
A 46-year-old man was shot in the head while trying to help a couple who were victims of a robbery on Avenida Juriti, in Moema, an upscale neighborhood in the South Zone of São Paulo. The crime took place on Sunday morning (19 April 2026). The region is close to Avenida Ibirapuera and Moema station, on Line 5-Lilac of the subway.
According to the case, it is being investigated as an attempted robbery. A man on a motorcycle approached the couple who were walking along the sidewalk and announced the robbery, demanding the handover of personal objects.
According to a note (Secretary of Public Security) sent to the Poder360a man who was passing by the scene intervened in defense of the victims and clashed with the suspect. The assailant then fired a shot and hit him in the head. The victim fell to the sidewalk, and the criminal fled.
The man was rescued and taken in serious condition to Hospital São Paulo, where he remains hospitalized. The couple was not injured.
Witnesses reported hearing a shot. Rescue teams and police vehicles then arrived at the scene.
The SSP informed, in a note, that the location was preserved for forensic examination and that images from security cameras in the region are being analyzed to identify the perpetrator.

The Civil Police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred this Sunday morning (19), on Avenida Juriti, in Indianópolis, south of the capital.
According to information, an individual on a motorcycle approached the victims on the public road and announced the robbery, demanding the handover of personal objects. During the action, a 46-year-old man who was passing by the scene intervened in defense of the victims, clashing with the suspect.
The perpetrator then fired a firearm, hitting him. The victim was rescued and taken to Hospital São Paulo, where he remained hospitalized in serious condition.
