Israel has ordered soldiers in Lebanon to use force if threatened

The Israeli Government has ordered the military in Lebanon to use force if threatened, even with the ceasefire in force.

The 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon has lasted since Thursday and was announced by the United States.

Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, made a point of saying this Sunday that the troops have orders to “use force” if they are the target of threats in Lebanon.

The army also received orders to “destroying houses in villages close to the border” which, according to the Israeli Defense Minister, serve as Hezbollah posts.

On Thursday, US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel that covers Hezbollah, saying he is confident that the Iranian-allied group will respect the truce.

According to the terms agreed by the two countries, the truce is expected to last 10 daysduring which Lebanon and Israel are expected to negotiate a more detailed plan to achieve lasting peace.

Hezbollah warned, however, that its fighters are if Israel violates the ceasefire.
