Munich/Barcelona/Stuttgart – Five weeks before the start of the French Open in Paris, the American Ben Shelton, among others, has gained self-confidence for the second tennis major. The 23-year-old defeated Alexander Zverev’s conqueror, Flavio Cobolli, 6:2,7:5 at the ATP 500 tournament in Munich on Sunday. At the equivalent event in Barcelona, the Frenchman Arthur Fils surprised the favored Russian Andrei Rublew with 6:2,7:6(2). In the women’s category, Jelena Rybakina and Marta Kostjuk were happy to win titles.
