Actor and producer Patrick Muldoonknown for his roles in the daytime drama Days of Our Lives, the evening soap opera Melrose Place and the film Starship Troopers, died suddenly on Sunday, April 19, as a result of a heart attack. He was 57 years old. The information was brought by the portal.

Born in San Pedro, California, Muldoon graduated from the University of Southern California (USC), where he played for the Trojans football team. He started his acting career during his university studies with an episodic role in the sitcom Who’s the Boss?. Shortly after graduating in 1991, he landed a supporting role in Saved By the Bell.

Muldoon was the first representative of the character Austin Reed in the series As Time Goes by, which he portrayed from 1992–1995 and later again from 2011–2012. Viewers also remember him from Melrose Place, where he played the negative character of Richard Hart in the 3rd to 5th seasons. In the late 1990s and after 2000, he acted in a number of television films.

He shone on the silver screen as Zander Barcalow in Paul Verhoeven’s Star Trek in 1997. His latest film, the crime thriller Dirty Hands, is scheduled for release later this year.

Those close to him described him as “infinitely generous – with his poetry, humor and unmistakable presence”. According to friends, he “loved animals and people, gave unforgettable hugs and had a rare ability to make others feel safe and appreciated. Muldoon, known to those close to him as “Bobo,” is survived by his partner, Miriam Rothbart, parents Deanna and Patrick Muldoon Sr., sister Shana with brother-in-law Ahmet Zappa and their children – beloved niece Halo and nephew Arrow Zappa.
