34-year-old agent was victim of robbery; police investigate group specializing in motorcycle thefts in the South Zone of the capital
The death of metropolitan civil guard Sara Andrade dos Reis, aged 34, found on Rodovia dos Imigrantes this Sunday (19), in São Paulo, is being investigated as a robbery — robbery followed by death. Initially, the Military Police were called to respond to a traffic accident, but upon arriving at the scene, they discovered that the officer had been shot.
Sara Andrade was riding a motorcycle when she was approached by criminals. During the action, she was hit by gunfire, and her functional weapon was taken. The main line of investigation points to the activities of a group specializing in motorcycle thefts in the South Zone of the capital of São Paulo.
The case is under the responsibility of the Civil Police, through the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP). According to authorities, There are already clues about the suspectswho had previously been investigated for similar crimes in the region. At that moment the police carry out approaches.
The investigation was carried out at the scene of the crime, and now the researchers work on crossing data obtained by security cameras and smart radars, that identify vehicle license plates, to confirm the suspects’ participation in the crime.
Sara Andrade had been a member of the Metropolitan Civil Guard for three years. She joined the corporation on February 3, 2023 and worked as a third-class agent in the Jabaquara Regional Inspectorate. Throughout his career, he dedicated himself to services aimed at protecting the population.
In an official note, the Metropolitan Civil Guard lamented the death of the agent and expressed solidarity with her family, friends and co-workers. The institution highlighted the recognition for the contribution made by Sara to the corporation.
The agent’s body is being laid to rest at the Araçá Cemetery, in São Paulo. The burial is scheduled to take place this Monday (20), after 1 pm.
