World Cup 2026: Philadelphia will offer free transport for fans after games

Fans traveling to Philadelphia for the World Cup will be able to enjoy free transportation after all six matches in the city. The news was announced this Monday (20) by Philadelphia Soccer 2026, after a partnership with the travel accommodation rental platform Airbnb.

The announcement is in stark contrast to some host cities that are increasing transport prices during the tournament.

Last Friday (17), value 10x higher than normal. Fans in Boston, meanwhile, will need to pay $95 for a round-trip bus ride to Gillette Stadium.

While normal fares will apply for travel to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) will offer free train rides home, with service beginning at halftime and continuing for two hours after games end.

“My administration has invested millions of dollars to ensure SEPTA trains continue to run smoothly as we embark on an epic year for sports in Philadelphia. And I’m glad that Airbnb is stepping up to offer free rides to fans so they can get home safely and affordably,” Gov. Josh Shapiro said in a statement.
