The average monthly wage in the private sector in Poland reached the level of 9,652 zlotys (2,280 euros) in March 2026, the Polish Main Statistical Office (GUS) announced on Tuesday. The Warsaw correspondent TASR informs about it. Wages rose nominally by 6.6% year-on-year.

However, average employment in the sector fell by 0.1% in March compared to the previous month and by 0.9% compared to the same period last year. The month-on-month wage rose by 5.7%, which, according to the GUS statement for the PAP agency, is due to the payment of quarterly bonuses.

GUS data also showed current developments in the construction industry. In the period from January to March 2026, 45,200 apartments were completed, which represents a year-on-year decrease of 1.4%. The developers handed over 26,100 apartments for use, ie 5.9% less than a year ago, while individual investors completed 17,900 apartments, which is an increase of 6%.

The number of started apartments decreased by 11.4%, on the contrary, the number of issued building permits or project notifications increased by 7.4%. The total floor area of ​​new apartments reached 4.2 million square meters, which represents a year-on-year increase of 1.1%. The average area of ​​one apartment was 93.1 square meters.
