Ábalos’ secretary in Transportation says that Aldama went to the ministry for meetings that were not on the minister’s agenda and that she never saw him with Ábalos
Ábalos’ Transportation Secretary, Ana María Aranda, has stated, as other witnesses did last week, that Aldama “appeared” at the minister’s offices, “alone or with Koldo,” in meetings that were not on the minister’s agenda. In addition, he has acknowledged that Koldo García asked him to issue safe-conduct passes to move freely despite the limitations of the pandemic and attend meetings at the ministry. Prosecutor Luzón asked her why, if her boss was Ábalos, she was following orders from Koldo and she responded that Koldo was “in the minister’s cabinet.”
Regarding Aldama’s visits, Ábalos’ former secretary said that the businessman came, as she remembers, “always” to see Koldo García. The businessman entered through the courtyard of senior officials and went up by the minister’s elevator, he said. As he recalls, the achiever only participated in three official meetings: one with the governor of Oaxaca (Mexico), and another two with the CEO of Globalia, Javier Hidalgo (who testified later).
