Fans of the legend of the Slovak and Czech music scene were in for a touching surprise on the fourth Sunday of Advent. Vašo Patejdl died on August 19, 2023 as a result of malignant pancreatic cancer, which he was diagnosed with just two weeks before the fateful day. Last year it was heard from the widow Miluša Patejdlová.
The last farewell to yours took place in the Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Strahov, Prague. Fans and Slovak and Czech celebrities said goodbye to him. This was followed by a secret farewell in the crematorium, attended only by the family. Until now, only his relatives knew about the musician’s final resting place.
“Today, on the last Sunday of Advent, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all of you, dear fans, for your favor and support that you continue to show. Together with my son Benjamin, your mother and sister, we appreciate it immensely. I remember how Your Highness always respected each of you and how important you were to him. We wish you a beautiful and blessed Christmas full of peace and well-being. And above all health and happiness in the new year,” Patejdl’s widow wrote on Facebook on Sunday, December 22.
He would have celebrated his 70th birthday this year. Jozef Ráž from Elán is exactly two weeks younger than his teammate Vašo Patejdl, with whom his long successful career as a musician is connected.
“I would also like to inform you in this way that Vašo has already found his final resting place at the cemetery in Prague 4 – Kunratice, which was one of his last wishes he shared in his final moments. He wanted to be close not only to us, but also to his beloved home, which for him has always been a place of peace, reverence, respect and, above all, love,” she explained.
“From now on, you can visit him at any time. Thank you all again for your loyalty and support,” was Miluša Patejdlová’s message next to two photos of the musician’s grave. You can find the PHOTO in the gallery below the article.
