The Prosecutor’s Office requests that the investigation against Begoña Gómez be archived | Spain

The Madrid Provincial Prosecutor’s Office has presented an appeal to the Provincial Court to file the case against the wife of the President of the Government, Begoña Gómez, accused of crimes of influence peddling, embezzlement, business corruption and misappropriation. The prosecutor considers that there are no signs of corruption for the investigation to continue either against Gómez or with the other two defendants, the advisor of La Moncloa, Cristina Álvarez, and the businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés, so he also requests the dismissal of the case for them, as reported by sources from the public ministry.

The prosecutor presented an appeal this Tuesday before the Criminal Chamber of the Provincial Court against the decision of the instructor Juan Carlos Peinado not to conclude the matter and a second appeal this Wednesday directed to the judge so that he does not finish the processing prior to holding a jury trial.
