Even before the opening whistle, the atmosphere was already heating up. Upon arrival at the Estádio do Dragonthe players of Sporting were prevented from accessing the changing rooms by some security guards, a situation which forced the intervention of Police of Public Security and which ended up being resolved in a short time.
And, this Wednesday, the same word reigned again and the ball still wasn’t rolling on the pitch.
Before the start of the second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals, Sporting’s players found themselves involved in yet another episode that caused a stir.
The Lisbon emblem had asked the Portuguese Football Federation to access the changing rooms through an alternative door, a request that would have been made shortly before the arrival of the Leonine delegation at Dragão.
It was for this reason that the members of the security body deployed for this match initially showed themselves to be irreducible in letting the Leo contingent advance towards the resorts.
There was a brief tension, which was resolved by the PSP, which allowed Sporting’s players and staff to go into the stadium.
