The Bolsonaro deputy (PL-SC) will try to stop the Conanda (National Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents) resolution that guarantees access for children and adolescents to legal abortion and which she had.
The text, approved this Monday (23), determines that access must be guaranteed to children and adolescents and prohibits “different conduct based on moral, political, religious and personal beliefs.”
The text also states that the absence of parents or legal guardians does not prevent children and adolescents from having the right to information.
“This issue is very serious, as it deals with human lives, the autonomy of families and the entire legal and moral system of a society”, says Zanatta. “If we accept this passively, we will be paving the way for any other atrocity. It is unacceptable that decisions of this magnitude are taken by a restricted group. This situation is completely absurd.”
In November, the deputy presented a project for children and adolescents who are victims of sexual violence. She argues that abortion should be regulated by Congress.
The approval of the resolution led the government to release a statement saying that it voted against the text, which was also the former national secretary for the Rights of Children and Adolescents.
