Too young for the streets: ORF “Schauplatz” about homeless young people

Regina has been spending her time at train stations since she was 12 years old. Now she is 21 and without a place to live. Sometimes she sleeps in youth shelters or stays with a friend. She is one of the homeless young people that Leon Hoffmann-Ostenhof hired for his ORFScene hits. He talks to them about their situation, the reasons for it, but also possible ways out. Too young for the streets is what he calls his venue, which can be seen on Thursday at 9:05 p.m. on ORF 2 and here on ORF On. Around a third of homeless people in Austria are under 30 years old. They often sleep on friends’ sofas or in makeshift accommodation. That’s why many of them remain invisible in public.
