Removed more than two months ago from his position as minister of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) in the face of harassment accusations e sexual harassmentMarco Buzzi maintains a salary full of trinkets who does it exceed R$ 100 thousand net per month.
In a note, the STJ stated that the Administrative Disciplinary Process (PAD) to which Buzzi responds was brought to the plenary on April 14th and that this month “he will only receive the remuneration portion of his salaries”. This means that the allowances to which he may be entitled will not be paid. (read the full text at the end).
Sought to comment on the payments made to the minister, the defense did not comment. In previous statements, he stated that he did not commit any improper act and that “the attempt to judge and condemn” the magistrate “even before the formal start of an investigation” constitutes an “unacceptable civilizational setback”.
Buzzi was on February 10th after the STJ established the PAD to investigate reports of sexual crimes. That month, the minister received R$ 132 thousand gross from the courtwhich corresponded to R$ 106 thousand net direct to the minister’s account. The data was first published by G1 and confirmed by Estadão.
O pattern repeated itself in Marchthe first month of the minister’s removal, when his net salaries reached R$ 101 mil. The base salary of a member of the STJ is R$44,000, but Buzzi and other ministers manage to more than double this amount with frills described as “indemnities” and “personal advantages”.
The STJ does not specify which benefits the minister was entitled to receive the salary of R$ 100 thousand, but mentions that, among the compensations, there may be “food assistance, transportation assistance, pre-school assistance, health assistance, birth assistance, housing assistance, cost assistance, in addition to other installments of this nature”.
In relation to “personal advantages”, Buzzi may have received the benefits known as “additional payments for length of service, fifths, tenths and advantages arising from a court ruling or administrative extension, and permanence allowance”.
The personal benefits correspond to an additional R$16,000 per month in Buzzi’s salary, while the compensation paid was R$71,000 in February and R$66,000 in March. During the period of absence, the minister maintained an average salary similar to last year, when he received amounts exceeding R$93 thousand reais.
In one month last year, Buzzi received R$260,000 boosted by penduricalhos. The minister accumulated more than R$1.1 million em 2025.
The removal prevents the minister from appearing before the STJ and carrying out his duties for the duration of the administrative process. As there was no sanction or formal recognition of the crimes, Buzzi remains entitled to receive his salary without any type of discount.
In addition to the administrative process at the STJ, Buzzi also responds to criminal investigation at the Federal Supreme Court (STF). The case is confidential, under the report of minister Kassio Nunes Marques
