The Institute of Employment and Professional Training (IEFP), through WorldSkills Portugal, announced the opening of registrations for the 47th edition of the National Championship of Professions – WorldSkills Portugal Centro 2027.
The registration period starts today and runs until May 10th, with the event taking place between February 23rd and 27th, 2027.
Under the motto “I dare! And you?”, the championship once again asserts itself as the main national stage for promoting professional training, bringing together hundreds of young people from all over the country.
During the competition, participants will be assessed on technical skills, creativity and rigor, covering around 50 professional areas.
Platform of excellence for young talents
In addition to the awarding of medals and distinctions at national level, the championship is seen as a decisive stage in the qualification of the Portuguese team for international competitions.
According to the IEFP, this initiative makes it possible to identify the best talents that will represent Portugal in European and global competitions.
International events include the European Championship, scheduled for September, in Düsseldorf, Germany, and the World Championship, scheduled for November 2028, in Aichi, Japan.
Education and training entities can register, including vocational training centers, vocational and secondary schools, higher education institutions, hotel and tourism schools and companies.
Free participation reinforces inclusion
In this edition, the IEFP introduces a measure considered “of great relevance for expanding participation”, by guaranteeing free attendance at the championship.
The entity covers the costs of accommodation, food and transportation for all participants, promoting greater equality of opportunities.
According to the organization, this decision reinforces “the commitment to inclusive access to professional training and qualifications”.
