San Francisco – American conductor, pianist and composer Michael Tilson Thomas died on Wednesday (April 22) at the age of 81. This was announced on his homepage. “In 2021, Michael was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, an aggressive form of brain cancer,” it said Thursday. “He continued to make music throughout his illness – a testament to his legacy as an artist and communicator.”
