Dino pushes PF towards the center’s dome – 12/24/2024 – Bruno Boghossian

prepared a Christmas surprise for the center. On Monday (23), during the end of the year recess, the minister ordered that they represent the main currency of the group’s business counter. More than R$4 billion were blocked. As a gift, the Federal Police must open an investigation into the political use of the money.

The freezing of amendments was a matter of time. The court had already suspended payments more than once, demanding a minimum of transparency in the distribution of funds. Parliamentarians failed to comply with almost all of the court’s decisions, often with government support and always in broad daylight.

Dino sent a message to the politicians. He characterized the spree of amendments as a symptom of “institutional degradation” and said that maintaining the sharing of money in that way constitutes an “unacceptable picture of serial unconstitutionalities”. He cited the STF’s “perseverant performance”, indicating that it will not give in to agreements to circumvent the court’s decisions.

The big news in this arm wrestling episode is the investigation that will be opened on Dino’s orders. In recent years, investigations carried out at retail have identified defective works, political favoritism and suspected misappropriation of funds for amendments, in some cases involving the names of parliamentarians. Now, the PF will operate wholesale.

The focus of the new investigation will be the leadership of the group that coordinates the concealment of the sponsors of the amendments and manages the distribution of money to political allies. The police will listen to parliamentarians to map out, for example, the agreements that simulated the allocation of funds that should have been reserved for Congressional committees and that, in reality, came to be controlled by center leaders.

This was the agreement that concentrated power in the hands of a consortium that directed the sending of amendments to allied politicians in exchange for support. In recent years, this sharing was led by (-AL), in the Chamber, and by (-AP), in . Both teams will inevitably be in the crosshairs of the investigation.
