British ex-minister at the center of an international scandal: Possible leaks of sensitive information to Epstein?!

European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) began investigating the case of the former British ambassador to the USA and European Commissioner Peter Mandelson. The reason is suspicions in connection with his ties to the poor sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, writes TASR according to a Reuters report.

“OLAF can confirm the opening of an investigation in the case you refer to. As the investigation is ongoing, OLAF cannot issue any further statements,” the office responded by email to a Reuters question. “The goal is to protect the confidentiality of ongoing and potential subsequent investigations, potential subsequent legal proceedings, personal data and procedural rights,” he added.

At the end of February, the European Commission (EC) referred Mandelson’s case to the European Anti-Fraud Office. She was then investigating whether the former European Commissioner for Trade did not violate the rules of the European Union. Indeed, previously published documents indicate that was supposed to have given Epstein information about the 500 billion euro bailout package in 2010.

Mandelson served as European Commissioner from 2004 to 2008. He is currently also facing investigation in Britainwhich is shaking the government of Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He appointed him ambassador to the United States at the end of 2024.

According to the published documents, Mandelson was supposed to help Epstein obtain information about the planned rescue package for the eurozone. At the time of its preparation, he served as a high-ranking British minister, while Epstein was a financier.
