The Brazilian President underwent surgery to remove basal cell carcinoma, a skin lesion, on his scalp, and will remain at rest until Monday.
The information was provided by doctor Ricardo Kalil, who accompanies Lula da Silva, explaining that the procedure went well and that this should not affect the campaign activities of the Brazilian Chief Executive.
“The President is greatin a good mood, I already wanted to go to Presidente Prudente on Monday, but I recommended that he take some time to heal”, he stated at a press conference.
“For consistency, we wait a little, because there is a wound on the skin. But, again, the important thing is will it interfere with the day-to-day activities of the campaign? It won’t. The worst that will happen is that he will appear wearing a hat”, he stressed.
In February, Lula da Silva had already undergone the same medical procedure.
This Friday, at the hospital in São Paulo, Lula da Silva was also subjected to infiltration in the wrist regiondue to pain in the right thumb.
In practice, the doctors applied anti-inflammatory medicines in the region due to tendonitis.
On medical recommendation, the Brazilian president should not attend the closing of the 8th National Congress of the Workers’ Party (PT), which starts today and continues on Sunday, in Brasília.
