“I only have two words. The first is gratitude, for the respect and trust. I am not from the PT, but I have always been received with enormous affection and consideration. And the second is loyalty. President Lula, count on us to work for the benefit of our population”, he said.
Political adversaries for decades, Lula and Alckmin will once again be on the same ticket competing in the elections for the Palácio do Planalto in 2026. In his participation, the vice-president also stated that the PT member would have “saved” democracy in the country.
“At the end of the year, we will have the electoral process, the high point of democracy. And we need to highlight that President Lula saved democracy in Brazil. If, losing the elections, they tried to stage a coup, imagine if they had won,” he said.
