On Thursday, April 23, the Republican Council of the SaS party unanimously decided to expel MP Jana Bittó Cigániková from its ranks. The party mainly blames her for damaging her reputation in the media, fighting against the political isolation of Hlas-SD and persistent absences from key meetings of the club and the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
Members of SaS claim that the MP no longer identified with the vision and direction of the party under the new leadership. The critical point of contention was the fact that the founder and honorary chairman Richard Sulík will not appear on the SaS candidate list in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The expulsion from the political party is expected to have a direct impact in the parliament in the coming days as well, where it is expected its definitive end in the Liberal caucus.
According to Bittó Cigániková, the reason for her expulsion from the party is her criticism of Gröhling. He does not understand why SaS perceives criticism as damaging to the party. “Well, it’s over. Criticism of the leadership is not forgiven, I am officially expelled from my political home, from my SaS. Unfortunately, there is not much left of the original SaSky,” she stated with tears in her eyes.
Support from Marián Greksa
The well-known singer and former member of the party Marián Greksa also publicly commented on the current situation. “Hello Janka, yesterday I saw some footage in Televízne noviny after you were expelled or rather fired from SaSka because you disagree with Mr. Braň’s views Gröhlinga and to the rest of his top (group of people), how unhappy you were,” he stated on Friday on the social network in the video that you can find at the beginning of the article.
He expressed understanding for her emotions as they both share a political past. “I understand mainly from a nostalgic moment that you are unhappy that you were actually fired from the party to which you devoted, if I remember correctly, almost 16 years of your life and I must confess that I also felt a little sorry because I remembered that the two of us boarded the SaS together on the same day,” reminded the musician.
At the same time, he openly criticized the internal functioning of the party and the attitude towards its founder. “I didn’t even last half a year there, because I understood that Richard Sulík was not the right person for me. He is not a person I would like to support. You stayed there and stood by him. I think you did it very honestly,” he stated.
In the context of her work in parliament, he emphasized his confidence in her intentions. “I am really convinced that what she did there and for our company, she thought very sincerely despite various foul language. For this reason I tell you that… you shouldn’t be sorry for what happened on that side, because it’s not the SaS we entered and it’s not at all the SaS-ka in which you stayed,” thinks the artist.
In his public statement, he strongly relied on the new composition of the leadership and the arrival of members from other political entities. “Under the leadership of Bran Gröhlinga it turned into something very hideous and the elite that gathered around him and those who came from other countries who did not come because of ideology. All these people, namely Krúpa, Kolíková, Hlina. And, unfortunately, Marián Viskupič also joined them… they are there just to have a good time. They changed their place of work several times. Clay is an absolute master at this,” he blurted out what he thought of the faces of the party.
At the end of his opinion, he added that he does not believe a word of the current representatives of the aforementioned group. “I don’t think they really mean anything they say. I feel sorry for their followers. So once again, despite the fact that I know that as an opposition MP you will still fight against the coalition that I fight for and am a fan of… so I wish you good luck, success in your work and don’t regret leaving something that already stinks like a cesspool.” he added harshly.
