8-page document, entitled ‘Building the future: PT Manifesto to continue transforming the country’, begins by talking about global geopolitical tensions
The Workers’ Party launched a manifesto with strategies for the 2026 elections and the re-election of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. However, he left out references to Banco Master and the INSS (National Social Security Institute), but invested in the reforms that he says are part of a “national development project, guided by clear strategic objectives and supported by a correlation of forces capable of
confront historically consolidated privileges.”
The party’s manifesto officially supports the end of the 6×1 work schedule and six other necessary ones, such as:
- Political and electoral reform;
- Tax reform;
- Technological reform;
- Reform of the Judiciary;
- Administrative reform.
“These structural reforms organize the strategic core of the national project and consolidate the path that Brazil has already started to follow.”, he says. “They imply the continuity and deepening of ongoing public policies and structuring projects. And they require Brazil to take a step further in this next cycle: to consolidate this legacy.”, he believes.
Brazil’s strength and sovereignty defense
The 8-page document, entitled “Building the future: PT Manifesto to continue transforming the country”, begins by talking about global geopolitical tensions. “The 2026 elections will be held in Brazil against a backdrop of the advance of the extreme right and fascism in the main countries of Europe and the Americas.”, he says. “A system that is organized under the logic of wealth concentration, in the face of collapse, does not correct its distortions: it socializes losses and preserves privileges.”, he adds.
“Democracy is strained by disinformation and the capture of public space by private interests. In this context, the re-election of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is decisive for the future of Brazil and for the international democratic field.”
Part of the document criticizes the USA, saying that the international order under United States hegemony is destabilizing in the face of the rise of new powers. “Wars, sanctions, blockades and interventions return to the center of the geopolitical chessboard, eroding international law and deepening crises”, says the document. “Democracy, increasingly mediated by private platforms, has become a terrain of unequal dispute.”, he adds.
Rare Earths
Another subject that was present in the manifesto, apart from rare earths, of which the PT emphasized that it is imperative that
Brazil takes the lead over its reserves “Explaining the value of these resources is explaining our independence: without rare earths, there is no energy transition or digital sovereignty.”, he says.
“Brazil holds one of the largest reserves on the planet and cannot accept the role of mere exporter of raw ore; our project requires that the processing and intelligence on these minerals takes place on national soil, generating qualified jobs and protecting our wealth against international greed.”, he adds.
