Slovak actress Elena Podzámska (54) got back on her feet and on the stage boards. At the end of last year, she was part of a yoga session, where she spoke openly about her struggle with alcohol and drugs, but also about problems with work. Her husband Jaroslav signed her up for the popular show, which he hoped would help her find a new job.
At the end of the episode, Podzámská was addressed via video by the general director of the Košice National Theater Ondrej Šoth, who offered her a guest role in the theater. Podzámska accepted this chance immediately. Since January, he has been performing in the main role in the ballet-drama performance Night Rehearsal, which was also praised by ex-president Rudolf Schuster.
The new life stage also demanded a visible change. Podzámska recently decided to take a radical step and put herself in the hands of an expert who he conjured a youthful appearance. “That bang,” she captioned her latest shot and positive reactions immediately began to collect under the post. “Wow! The former star of the series Panelák, Odsúdené or Sisters went through a period in the past that she would rather forget. „I became addicted to alcohol, drugs, benzodiazepines. That’s a killer combination. I didn’t want to live. I completely lost my appetite and motivation for life and wanted to leave, but fortunately, I realized that this will either be the end or a completely new beginning.” she stated in Seventh Heaven with tears in her eyes.
Today, she is an abstinent alcoholic, but in retrospect, she is very aware of why she gradually lost job offers. “Of course, I tried to control myself when it comes to work, but it gets out of hand. They see it in you. Everyone sees it,” she admitted. In the most difficult period of her life, she moved to Prešov and did not tell anyone about it. Even her daughter Radka had no idea about it and turned to the police, who subsequently launched a search. In the East, however, she found love and the security of a home with 43-year-old Jaroslav, whom she secretly married as her husband.
