Stock purchases were reported in a declaration of interests to the European Central Bank that decided to cancel them.
Álvaro Santos Pereira bought shares in Galp and Jerónimo Martins after assuming office as Governor of the Bank of Portugal, the report said today
The purchase took place in December last year, two months after taking possession. The information is contained in a declaration of interestses delivered by the Bank of Portugal to the European Central Bank in January this year
After being analyzed by Frankfurt, the operations were cancelled.
The value of the purchases was not disclosed, but according to the Público newspaper, each operation was less than 50 thousand euros.
