Intense rain caused damage in Sameiro, Manteigas.
After weeks of lots of sun, the rain will return and there are 11 districts under yellow warning: Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Braga, Bragança, Viseu, Évora, Guarda, Santarém, Castelo Branco, Coimbra and Portalegre.
(End of) April… thousand waters… The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) placed 11 districts on the continent under yellow warning on Tuesday due to the forecast of rain, hail and thunder.
The districts of Vila Real, Viana do Castelo and Braga They already had a yellow warning for between 12pm and 6pm this Monday and it was extended to Tuesday, between 12pm and 9pm.
These three districts join Bragança, Viseu, Évora, Guarda, Santarém, Castelo Branco, Coimbra and Portalegre also between 12pm and 9pm on Tuesday due to sometimes heavy showers – which could be hail – and thunderstorms.
The yellow warning, the least serious on a scale of three, is issued whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
O IPMA predicts showers and thunderstorms in the North and Center for this Monday on the continentespecially in mountainous areas and during the afternoon, generally weak wind predominating from the eastern quadrant, sometimes blowing moderately in the central and southern highlands, and a small increase in maximum temperature.
Minimum temperatures will range between 11ºC (Leiria) and 17ºC (in Lisbon) and maximum temperatures between 23ºC (in Guarda) and 30ºC (in Santarém).
