The senator (-RJ), pre-candidate for President, exchanged praise and promises of unity with (Republicans) this Monday (27) and said that the governor of will be president “one day”.
The two participated in Agrishow (International Agricultural Technology Fair in Action), in Ribeirão Preto (SP), 313 km from the capital, the country’s main agricultural event.
The governor of , who was the financial market’s favorite for the dispute over the Palácio do Planalto, is often the target of criticism from the right for what they consider to be a low level of engagement in the pre-candidacy of Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) son.
At this Monday’s event, Tarcísio said that Flávio will be president from next year and that he is proud of the journey he made with the former president, who is serving a family prison sentence.
Agrishow, one of the right-wing politicians in recent years, was marked by criticism of the president’s (PT) administration. Flávio, hailed by agribusiness representatives as “future president”, said that the PT member will be irrelevant from next year.
The statements were made in the auditorium of the IAC Sugarcane Center (Agronomic Institute of Campinas), owned by the state government, which is located inside the farm that hosts the agricultural fair.
“This difficult time will change, because no one can take it anymore […] I’m sure October’s result will be exceptional. I’m sure we’ll have a key turnaround”, said Tarcísio.
Afterwards, at a press conference, he said that the act is the first of several that will take place, such as those involving the launch of the pre-candidacy for the Senate of Guilherme Derrite (PP) and events such as Feicorte, in Presidente Prudente.
Flávio said in his speech that the person who should be in his place today was his father, who is under house arrest.
“I wouldn’t have someone better here in São Paulo to walk alongside, Tarcísio. A person who, yes, has full capacity to be president of this Brazil. And, God willing, it will be one day, Tarcísio, because Brazil deserves a person like you also commanding this country”, said the senator.
Then, both started walking through the streets of the fair, greeting visitors. Agrishow expects to receive more than 195 thousand visitors until Friday (1).
CRITICISM OF LULA’S PROGRAM
Tarcisio did not participate in the fair ceremony, this Sunday (26), which was attended by the vice-president of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), and ministers André de Paula (Agriculture) and Fernanda Machiaveli (Agrarian Development).
Alckmin announced the release of a special credit line of R$10 billion for rural producers with interest rates below 10% for the purchase of agricultural machinery and implements.
The resources should be released in around three weeks, according to the vice-president, and Faesp (Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of São Paulo) protested, stating that it was the “day of no announcement”, considering that there were no concrete measures for the sector.
The previous day, the president of the federation, Tirso Meirelles, had already criticized the proposal by the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) to abolish the 6×1 working day, when participating in Expozebu, in Uberaba, in the Triângulo Mineiro.
“Simply, a man comes on TV and says the following ‘You, a simpler society, are working so much that you can’t afford to be with your children’. Arrange transport, provide security, you need to resolve the structuring of the country first instead of messing with the 6×1”, he said.
Protests about the new financing line were also made by Flávio, who classified it as far below what was necessary.
Before him, the Secretary of Agriculture of São Paulo, Geraldo Melo Filho, said that the federal government’s Harvest Plan has lost function and relevance and that the promises made by the Union are empty.
“At the opening of the fair we had proof of this, the government announced a kind of phantom credit here. It was announced as if it existed, almost no one believes it exists and even if they believe they cannot see it or touch it”, he stated.
The mayor of Ribeirão, Ricardo Silva (PSD), praised the São Paulo governor and, to Senator Flávio, stated that former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) chose technical names for his ministry.
He also defended the election to the Senate of Guilherme Derrite (PP), former Secretary of Public Security.
The president of the FPA (Agricultural Parliamentary Front), Pedro Lupion (PP-PR), said that Flávio’s presence “is an omen of an auspicious future” and that the Lula government despises rural producers.
The senator was hailed as a “future president” also by the president of the Legislative Assembly, André do Prado (PL).
Agrishow is organized by Abimaq (Brazilian Association of the Machinery and Equipment Industry), Abag (Brazilian Agribusiness Association), Anda (National Association for Fertilizer Diffusion), Faesp and SRB (Brazilian Rural Society).
