Innsbruck – After allegations of abuse that emerged last year against the late founder of SOS Children’s Villages, Hermann Gmeiner, the street named after him in the east of the Tyrolean state capital Innsbruck will be renamed. The local council decided this unanimously early on Thursday evening – with the KPÖ abstaining. The street will in future be called “Josefine-Sölder-Straße” – after a former teacher and influential politician from the Christian Social Party (CSP) in Tyrol.
