The bill must ensure that those arrested for the incident can serve sentences in a semi-open or open regime
After the veto of the Dosimetry bill (PL) was overturned this Thursday afternoon (30) in the National Congress, family members of those convicted of January 8, who followed the vote there, celebrated the result of the deliberation by singing the Brazilian National Anthem and shouting “free Bolsonaro” while hugging each other.
The project reduces the penalties applied to those convicted of coup attempt and for involvement in coup acts January 8, 2023. The decision will benefit former president Jair Bolsonarowith the reduction of his sentence.
The Chamber of Deputies voted first and formed a majority to overturn the veto. They were 318 votes in favor of the overthrow e 144 contrary. In the Senate, there were 49 votes to overturn the veto e 24 votes against.
