The North American brand Destination by Hyatt opened its first tourist resort in Portugal, Masana Algarve, in Albufeira, with an investment of 11 million euros, according to a source linked to the project.
Located on the Algarve coast, in Olhos de Água, in the municipality of Albufeira, in the district of Faro, the unit has 33 residences and offers visitors the possibility of staying in one and two-bedroom suites and villas with views of the garden, pool or sea, Masana Algarve said in a statement.
Based on the “slow living retreat” concept, which aims to help guests disconnect and slow down from daily life, the brand opens the first resort in Portugal, created with an “intentionally intimate scale” to give visitors “a sense of place rarely found in the Algarve”, explained Masana Algarve.
“Conceived as an intimate, design-led retreat, Masana Algarve combines the privacy of residential life with the services of a refined hospitality experience,” he highlighted, noting that visitors will have access to a coastal “refuge” next to the cliffs of the Algarve coast.
The residences have an equipped kitchen, living and dining areas, walk-in shower, private outdoor space and are prepared for guests to enjoy “extended stays and a relaxed coastal pace”, said the company.
“The interiors reflect the rich culture, landscape and slow pace of life of the South, combining natural materials, earthy tones and soft textures to create a haven of calm and authenticity, promoting well-being,” added the same source, highlighting that personalized support is provided by a “guest experience manager” throughout the stay.
The opening of the resort continues the expansion in Portugal of the Hyatt group, which already has hotels in three other locations.
“The opening of the hotel follows recent launches in Lisbon, Vilamoura and Madeira and reflects Hyatt’s continued expansion in Portugal, with plans for the number of rooms in the group’s hotels to triple in the country by 2027”, he highlighted.
